Music My favorite music

When I got my first CD player, back in '91, I picked up Les Miserables, and the Star Wars soundtrack. From there I got a few more musical soundtracks, and a few groups that I heard on the radio. It wasn't until '95 when my mother and Nik introduced me to modern rock, classic, alternative. Now I've got over a hundred CDs, ranging from Christian rock, classical, techno, industrial, pop, alternative, and classic.

My favorite groups are Rush, Led Zepplin, Tori Amos, Dave Matthews Band, and Queensryche. I'll buy anything they make. Some of my my other favorites are the B-52s, Supertramp, U2, Madonna, The Smashing Pumpkins, Seal, and Lenny Kravitz. Curiously enough, I couldn't stand Madonna until Oct 95 when I saw a few of her videos at a friend's going away party.

I just bought (and fell in love with) Savage Garden, and Tori Amos' from the chorus girl.

I've been fortunate enough to hear two very talented local artists.

Box Set is a light guitar band, kinda like, uh, Tom Petty? They've headlined at the Filmore a few times, and they have several CDs out. (including a new CD, "Thread")!

Stephanie Mechura is an excellent vocalist, guitar player, and song writer.

At work, I use CD Notify to play music. It gets the CD track info direct from www.cddb.com. In addition, I love the interface. The whole program fits into my system taskbar (Yes, I use NT!) and puts the current song and time on the title bar of whatever program I'm using.
